Vivian I. Young, 80, of De Soto died Dec. 23, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Young retired as a customer service supervisor for Ameren. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in De Soto. Born Jan. 6, 1941, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Haston “Pogie” and Lillian M. (Mueller) Ham. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ed Hinchey.
She is survived by a daughter: Vikki (Ron Foreman) Young of Bonne Terre; one grandchild: Gabriel (Abigail Calvert) Young of Bonne Terre; and her former husband: Ron Young of De Soto.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N Main, in De Soto. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Dr. G. Michael Rose. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
