Virginia McClanahan, 89, of De Soto died Dec. 6, 2020, at Crystal Oaks in Festus. Mrs. McClanahan was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of De Soto. She was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Ware, the daughter of the late Edith (Brown) and Harrison Knapp and the stepdaughter of the late Anna M. Knapp. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lindell “Mac” McClanahan.
She is survived by three children: Michael McClanahan of Kansas City, Cindy Stearns of De Soto and Dennis McClanahan of De Soto; six grandchildren: Gabe (Lori) Stearns, Nick (Keeley) Stearns, Hillary (Michael) Hensley, Michael McClanahan, Kendra McClanahan and Zach McClanahan; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Bradley Delaughter. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto.
