Violet Christine (McWhorter) Davidson, 75, of Imperial, formerly of St. Louis, died July 22, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Davidson was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Gadsden, Ala., the daughter of the late Dorothy L. (Mahaffey) and William McWhorter. She was preceded in death by two husbands: John E. Whitlock Sr. and William H. Davidson.
She is survived by five sons: John Whitlock of Pevely, Robert (Kathleen) Whitlock of Arnold, Joseph Manno of St. Louis, Larry Harnetz of St. Louis and Ernest Burchfield of Jefferson County; three daughters: Deborah Blotter of Imperial, Susan Nolte of Fordland and Rhonda Burchfield of Imperial; 13 grandchildren: Erica, Jonathan, Ashley, Hannah, Jennifer, Robert, Rachel, Samantha, Logan, Zach, Andrea, Stacia and Ryan; and 18 great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Bryzan, Austin, Sophia, Jilaine, Skyler, Roxas, Gianna, Avrinna, Josh, Cody, Steven S., Sam, Noah, Madison, Jaynna, David and Steven L. She was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy C. McWhorter; a daughter-in-law: Roxanne Whitlock; a granddaughter: Heather L. Whitlock; an aunt: Maudie M. Moore; and an uncle: Robert G. Mahaffey.
A memorial gathering is scheduled for 2 p.m. and memorial services for 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute 363-54-887. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
