Vincent Patrick Culleton, 64, of Dittmer, formerly of St. Louis, died Aug. 27, 2017, in St. Louis. Since the passing of his mother, he had made his home with his sister, Eileen. Mr. Culleton was a Christian, having been baptized in the Catholic faith at a young age. He attended special school until the age of 20, and loved playing video games, helping around the house and coloring (his favorite color was purple). He was passionate about taking pictures and arranging them in albums, and was the go-to person if family members were searching for a particular photograph. He especially enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Kathleen, and going to Six Flags to ride the rides. Born April 24, 1953, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Thomas and Genevieve Mary (Wobbe) Culleton.
He is survived by three sisters: Eileen (Pete) Dittrich of Dittmer (with whom he made his home since the passing of his mother), Mary Ann McKechnie of Hyannis, Neb., and Catherine Askew of St. Louis; four brothers: James Culleton of St. Louis, Michael (June) Culleton of Cuba, Mo., John Culleton of St. Louis and Thomas (Shari) Culleton of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother: Leo Jones.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, 530 E. Springfield Ave., in St. Clair, with rosary services at 7:30 PM. Visitation is at 9 a.m. and a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering, officiated by Father Bob Knight. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Russell Colonial Funeral Home.
