Victoria Anne “Vicki” Martin, 67, of Roswell, Ga., formerly of Hillsboro, died April 23, 2020, at her home in Roswell. Mrs. Martin was raised in Victoria and graduated from Hillsboro High School. She was the director of human resources and executive secretary to the superintendent for the Hillsboro School District until her 2009 retirement. She previously worked for Doe Run Lead Co. in Herculaneum. She was a member of the American Legion Post 201 Ladies’ Auxiliary in Alpharetta, Ga., the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, Ga. and a previous member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro, where she helped provide nightly meals for the parish priest. She also volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Pilgrim Virgin ministry. She had previously served on the Hillsboro Park Board. Born Sept. 14, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Mary Catherine (Khaki) Stroup and Harold (Short) Scott.
She is survived by her husband: Charles A. “Chuck” Martin, whom she married April 8, 1983, in Hillsboro; two daughters: Callie Ann (Matt Staloch) Martin of Hillsboro and Caitlin Anne (Jared) Santinelli of Roswell, Ga.; five grandchildren: Cyrus, Lia and Gavin Mahan of Hillsboro and Lydia and Jack Santinelli of Roswell; a brother: Colby Scott; a brother-in-law: Lou (Janelle) Martin of Alpharetta; two sisters-in-law: Jane Scott of Hillsboro and Becky Martin Lowry, both of Hillsboro; seven nieces and nephews: Colby N. Scott, Connor (Hunter Johnson) Scott, Mitchell Scott, Dustin (Stacey) Lowry, Scott (Laura) Lowry, Barbara Lowry and Andrea Lowry; and numerous family members and friends.
Funeral services and burial will be held in De Soto at a later date. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to Good Shepherd Church, 703 Third St., Hillsboro, 63050.
