Vickie Lynn Brown, 62, of De Soto died Aug. 31, 2015, in De Soto. Mrs. Brown was an activities director at Hillcrest Nursing Home, worked for U.S. Tool, was a custodian at North County High School and was a director of Bonne Terre Nutrition Center. She was a member and officer of Amvets Post 48 Auxiliary, for which she was president for two years and was a former leader of the Junior Amvets. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Born Aug. 2, 1954, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Jesse (Cole) Reynolds.
She is survived by her husband: Kent A. Brown; four children: Kent Brown II of St. Louis, Carla (Charles “Andy”) Beck of Desloge, Roxie Heberlie of St. Peters and Kristy Brown of Maryland Heights; a brother: Robert Brown of Round Lake, Ill.; two sisters: Lois (Dan) Kollars of Marion, Ill., and Grace Brown of St. Louis; a sister-in-law: Alice Secrets of De Soto; four grandchildren: Marissa, Braden, Hannah and Jordan; and a special friend: Sylvia Blake.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Paul “Dick” Secrets.
Funeral services were held Sept. 3 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, officiated by Richard White. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, De Soto.
