Velva Mae Cole, 99, of Festus died March 27, 2019, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Festus. Mrs. Cole was a concessionaire at a state park. Born Dec. 20, 1919, in Fertile, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Politte) and Edward Brent Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband: Numan Cole.
She is survived by a grandson: William “Bill” (Nancy) Cole; a granddaughter-in-law: Colleen Cole; and five great-grandchildren: Blake, Courtney, Lauren, Jordan and Aiden Cole.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Esbaugh and Edna Becker; and a grandson: Ronald Brent Cole.
A private graveside service was held March 31 in the Blackwell Masonic Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Dave Duncan. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
