Vedis Thompson, 93, of Eureka died Dec. 9, 2018, in St. Louis. Mr. Thompson owned a gas station in Eureka until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Born July 22, 1925, in Bernie, he was the son of the late Raymond and Tiny (Durham) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his wife: Bessie Mae “Bess” (Ratliff) Thompson.
He is survived by three children: Marlan (Bonnie) Thompson, Debbie Nizborski and Gary (Janet) Thompson; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation is at 11:30 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Schrader Funeral Home, 108 N. Central Ave., in Eureka. Burial is at 2 p.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight Program. Arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
