Toni Burst, 75, of Hillsboro died June 24, 2017. Mrs. Burst was a member of St. Martin's United Church of Christ in Dittmer, where she was the most recent past president of the congregation. She also held leadership positions in several organizations in her community, including the Raintree Property Owners Association, where she served on the board of directors; the Shriners, where she served as treasurer, vice president and three terms as president of the ladies’ Temple Club; and the Scaps and Patches quilt club, where she served as president. She also was a member of Outreach Quilt Ministry. Born Aug. 14, 1941, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Geraldine (Johnson) Panter. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard H. Burst Sr.
She is survived by a daughter: Sharilynn (Art) Duncan of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren: Becket Duncan and Bellamy Duncan; two siblings: Jon Panter and David (Amy) Panter; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh, St. Louis, 63131. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
