Tommy C. “Poppy” Thomas, 73, of Fenton died Oct. 12, 2018, at his home. Mr. Thomas loved watching old Westerns and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was part Native American and had a passion for Native American collectibles. He had a daredevil spirit but also had a soft heart for all animals. Born Oct. 2, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of  the late Charles and Lillian (Site) Thomas.

He is survived by his wife: Judy (Freeman) Thomas;  a daughter: Kelly (Nathan) Steffens; three grandchildren: Tawny (Travis) Brown, Ryan Steffens and Dakota Steffens; a special nephew: Dennis Thomas; three siblings: William (Carolyn) Thomas, Mary (Norbert) Scism and Janet (Frank) Denny; and many other nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Shirley Jennewein

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the funeral home. Burial is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
