Thomas V. Forbush, 74, of De Soto died May 21, 2022, in Farmington. Mr. Forbush served in the U.S. Army and retired as a sergeant major. He then was an instructor for both the ROTC and JROTC. He was a member of the D.J. Mahn - G.A. Sutton VFW Post 1831 in De Soto. He loved making handcrafted knives, hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family. Born July 19, 1947, in Watertown, N.Y., he was the son of the late Vern C. and Margaret (Woods) Forbush.
He is survived by his wife: Meri Diane "Dee" Forbush of De Soto. He also is survived by two sons: Brian (Lisa) Forbush of Imperial and Jeff (Nikki) Forbush of De Soto; three grandchildren: Hannah, Reed and Autumn; two brothers: Edward (Joan) Forbush of Kansas City and Dennis (Peggie) Forbush of Imperial; and one sister: Nancy (Alan) Slocum.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Mahn De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Private burial for family will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to D.J. Mahn - G.A. Sutton VFW Post 1831 in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
