Thomas Stephen “Tom” Jackson St., 87, of Desoto died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mr. Jackson a retired dental lab technician and the former owner and operator of the Jackson Dental Lab in De Soto.  He was a Korean War-era veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto, where he served as a trustee, choir member and former music director. He enjoyed playing golf, working outdoors, playing piano, helping people and fixing things. Born March 6, 1932, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Frank Russell and Mary Luceil (Boland) Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joan (Keyton) Jackson.

He is survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by three children: Thomas S. Jackson Sr., Mildred “Millie” Starwalt and Cindie Breeze; a brother: Bill; and a sister: Betty.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St.,  in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at First Baptist Church of De Soto. Burial with full military honors will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Park in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
