Thomas R. “Toup” Couppee, 67, of De Soto died Oct. 27, 2019, at his home. Mr. Couppee was a retired welder and carman for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge in De Soto. He also was a member of the Sons of AmVets Post 48 in De Soto and the Brotherhood of Railway Carman of America. Born July 6, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (O’Mora) Couppee. He is survived by his wife: Pattie (Hennerichs) Couppee of De Soto; a child: Vaughn (Rico) Torres of Dousman, Wis.; two stepchildren: Nita McLemore of St. Louis and Josh McLemore of Milwaukee, Wis.; five siblings: Mike (Rae) Couppee of Clinton, Iowa, Sue (Bill) Wolever of Comanche, Iowa, Tony (Kenly) Couppee of Milwaukee, Iowa, Dan (Jeneen) Couppee of Davenport, Iowa, and Jane (Don) Gordon of Davenport, Iowa; and two granddaughters: “B” and Layla.
Memorial services will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 2, at the De Soto Elks Lodge, 689 Clarke St. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
