Thomas Gordon “Tommy” Hawkins, 65, of De Soto died May 17, 2020, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mr. Hawkins was a construction laborer who worked on many projects in the St. Louis area, including South County Center. He played the guitar, pedal steel guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, which he played on TV at the age of 7. He volunteered to perform at “Heroin Rallies” and other charitable functions. He was of the Christian faith. Born Feb. 22, 1955, at Washington, he was the son of the late Peggy B. Jackson and Thomas L. Hawkins.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Patti J. (Denman) Hawkins; a son: Thomas A. Hawkins of Florida; a daughter: Shelly (Gary) Bussa of Kentucky; two brothers: Bill (Debbie) Hawkins of Beaufort and J.C. (Angie) Hawkins of Stratford; four sisters: Jan (Don) Koch of Sullivan, Betty (Doug) Kappelmann of Rosebud, Jennifer (John) Metcalf of Union and Theresa (Ray) McGee of Warrenton; three grandchildren: Bryce, Arianna and Zander Bussa; and numerous family members and friends.

Memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
