Thomas G. “Tom” Ochs, 77, of Festus died Feb. 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Ochs worked in home sales for the family business and was a driver for DRA. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed trout fishing, yard work and spending time with family. Born May 27, 1944, in St. Charles, he was the son of the late Isidore and Mary (Schneider) Ochs.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn (Olendorff) Ochs; three sons: John (Karrey) Ochs of Hillsboro, Jeffrey (Carissa) Ochs of Crestview, Fla., and Todd (Nicole) Ochs of Spotsylvania, Va.; a daughter: Laura (Matthew) Cage of Festus; five brothers: John (Carol) Ochs, James (Suzette) Ochs, Stephen (Shirley) Ochs, Richard Ochs and Michael (Evelyn) Ochs; a sister: Mary Tayon; 13 grandchildren: Brenden, Shane, Lydia, Annibell, Madison, Joe, Landon, Natalie, Brenna, Mason, Katelyn, Emeli and Grace; two great-grandchildren: Carson and Joel; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Mark Allen Ochs; a brother: David Ochs; and two sisters: Susan Lauderdale and Margaret Peters.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. – noon Monday, March 7, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus. Funeral services are private. Burial will take place in the St. Peters Cemetery in St. Charles. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 324 S. Second St., De Soto, 63020; or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Rd., Crystal City, 63019. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
