Tyler C. Kinkead, 26, of De Soto has been charged with two counts of felony first-degree burglary after he allegedly entered the same home on two separate occasions this year, according to court documents.
Kinkead was arrested on May 9, and as of May 12, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court and jail records show.
Kinkead is accused of illegally entering a home in the 700 block of East Pratt Street on at least two separate occasions, according to probable-cause statements filed by the De Soto Police.
An officer was first called to the home on March 18, and when the officer arrived, he saw Kinkead coming out of the garage, the report said.
A woman, who lives at the home, told the officer Kinkead had entered the garage and asked for a cigarette. The woman said when she refused to give him a cigarette, Kinkead pushed her against a wall, according to the report.
The officer wrote he told Kinkead to stop walking and place his hands behind his back. Kinkead did not listen to the officer and attempted to walk away, the report said.
The officer wrote that Kinkead pushed him several times when he tried to stop him from walking away and a physical struggle ensued. The officer wrote that he used physical control techniques and used a stun gun to arrest Kinkead, according to the report.
An officer was called to the house on May 8, when Kinkead was allegedly seen entering the home again. Kinkead allegedly ran up the driveway, went into the garage and stole cigarettes before running back to his nearby home, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.
The woman told police Kinkead had entered the house two days before he allegedly stole cigarettes from the garage, the report said.
