Amsden, Thomas

Thomas G. Amsden, 76, of Hillsboro died Feb. 27, 2015, at his home. Mr. Amsden was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 618 and 682 and a member of Amvets Post 48. Born Oct. 30. 1938, in Frumet, he was the son of the late Marvin and Gertrude (James) Amsden.

He is survived by his wife: Jeanette (Bridges) Amsden of Hillsboro; three children: Bryan (Lisa) Amsden of Hillsboro, Bruce (Luz) Amsden of Hillsboro and BeLinda Niemann of Festus; a brother: John Amsden of Festus; and four grandchildren: Cassie, Caylen, Ethan and Thomas.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Lloyd “Butch” Niemann Jr.; and six siblings: Bill Amsden, James Amsden, Edward Joseph Amsden, Mary Lou Boyer, Maxine Rabbitt and Margaret Ann Amsden.           

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Bruce Valle. Burial is in the St. Joachim Cemetery in Old Mines. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
