Schuessler, Thomas

Thomas Frederick Schuessler, 72, of Hillsboro died June 23, 2020, at his home. Mr. Schuessler taught at Jefferson College and served as president of the Jefferson College Teachers Union. He  was a magician and a member of the Society of American Magicians. He also worked as a physics biomedical research engineer. He was born Dec. 11, 1947, in St. Louis, the son of the late Bernice Ann Mary (Zaiger) and Oscar Schuessler Sr.

He is survived by his wife: Fern Ella Christ Pflantz Schuessler;  a son: Jon Roland Schuessler of Hillsboro; two daughters: Amanda Sue (Joshua Bolds) Stegeman of St. Charles and Cheri Ann (Raymond) Schauffler of Farmington and Arnold; two grandchildren: Eaen Alexander Stegeman and Elsa Renee Stegeman, both of St. Charles; and a niece: Joyce Bloodworth of Smithland, Ky.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: David (Janet) Schuessler and Oscar (Janet) Schuessler.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Imperial, officiated by Pastor Charles Schultz. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County.
