Thomas Francis “Pat” Stewart, 80, of Pevely died June 8, 2018, at his home. Mr. Stewart was a truck driver for Arnold Junior Fenton (AJF) in St. Louis and a member of Teamsters Local 600, having held office as a shop steward and business agent. He was of the Catholic faith, serving as an altar boy as a child for Masses said in Latin. He also was a Golden Gloves boxer from 1950 till 1953. He was born Aug. 18, 1937, in St. Louis, the son of the late Thomas F. Stewart and Josephine (Kellor) Buss. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce (Sexton) Stewart.

He is survived by four children: Thomas F. (Cindy) Stewart Jr. of Imperial, David (Cindy) Stewart of Albuquerque, N.M., Mary (the late Michael) Jakich of Granite City, Ill., and Michael Stewart of Granite City;a brother-in-law: Joseph Ventimiglia; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Justin) Westhoff, David D. (Ruth) Stewart Jr. and Kyle (Deanna) Stewart; seven great-grandchildren: Shannon Westhoff, Gwendolyn Westhoff, John Westhoff, Kamden Stewart, Brianna Stewart, Matthew Stewart and Michael Stewart; and several stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son: Ronald Stewart; his stepfather: Charles Buss; a brother: Edward (the late Dorothy) Buss; and five sisters: Eleanor (the late Joe) Bova, Larraine (the late Frank) Kopera, Dorothy (the late Dick) Miller, Florence (the late Bill) Ford and Alfredia Ventimiglia.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the funeral home, officiated by Chaplain Dale Stringer. Burial is in the Friedens Cemetery & Mausoleum in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
