Sue “Suzie” (Haynes) Nix, 75, of High Ridge died June 23, 2019. Mrs. Nix spent the early years of marriage as a full-time mother to her four children. She later became a paraprofessional at High Ridge Elementary. Later still she became a technology specialist for the Northwest R-1 School District, where she spent the rest of her career before retiring in June of 2015. She continued to volunteer with the tech department along with spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and close friends. Born Feb. 13, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret (Hargraves) Haynes.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Michael Nix, whom she married on April 17, 1971; four children: Tina(David) Ribaudo, Eric Nix, Wendi Nix and Jason(Beth) Nix; six grandchildren: Shelby and Nicholas Ribaudo, Joshua and Samantha Bauer, and Morgan and Skylar Nix; a sister: Kathleen (Haynes) Nelson; a nephew: Michael Nelson; along with many other relatives and friends.
The family will host a celebration of life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Cedar Hill Elks Lodge 2678, at 8430 Industrial Drive in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to Brenden’s Friday Backpacks, 3259 Burning Tree Lane, Festus, 63028. Arrangements are under the direction of St. Louis Cremation.
