Brenner, Steven

Steven Edward Brenner, 56, of Blackwell died Dec. 20, 2017, at his home. Mr. Brenner was a machinist for MDA and a member of Elks Lodge 689 and Amvets Post 48 in De Soto. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, reading, waterskiing, anything involving being on the water or in the outdoors, and most of all, his family. Born April 23, 1961, in Ishpeming, Mich., he was the son of Claire (Martinem) Brenner of Ephrata, Pa., and the late Stavros “Steve” Glyptis. His adoptive father was the late Frederick Brenner.

He is survived by his wife: Rochelle “Shelly” (Short) Brenner of Blackwell; a son: Mitchell Brenner of Fort Campbell, Ky., a daughter: Rachel Brenner of Arlington, Texas; six sisters: Danita (Irvin) Martin of Manheim, Pa., Amy (Jeffrey) Auker of Lititz, Pa., Tanya Worley of Ephrata, Pa., Eugenia (Gina) Gough of Allouez, Mich., and Rita (Mike) Glyptis and Pam Glyptis, both of AuTrian, Mich.; and a number of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Fran Glyptis.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 North Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Purple Heart Foundation, 7008 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003; or to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, 2000 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, UT 84112. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
