Berger, Steve

Stephen Wilbert “Steve” Berger, 69, of Theodosia, formerly of Arnold, died Nov. 8, 2017, in Branson. Mr. Berger was a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Army and was proud of his 41-year career with the U.S. Postal Service. He loved fishing, and the happiest days of his life were living at the lake. Born Nov. 11, 1947, in St. Louis, he was the son of Frances (Wagner) Berger of St. Louis and the late Wilbert Berger.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons: Devron (Connie) Berger of Arnold and Brian (Michelle) Wendt of Hillsboro; a daughter: Robin (Ronnie) Chitwood of St. Peters; nine grandchildren: Christina, Austin, Ethan, Amanda, Brian, Andrew, Amanda, Emma and Samantha; 12 great-grandchildren: and three sisters: Brenda Card, Linda Luschuck and Sue Gardenhire.

He is preceded in death by two brothers: Bill Berger and an infant.

Inurnment with full military honors is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks in Hollister.
