Shirley Geraldine Smith, 83, of Ogden, Utah, formerly of Crystal City, died July 3, 2018, in South Ogden. Mrs. Smith was an activities therapist for Alton Mental Health Hospital for 26 years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City, where she loved teaching Sunday school and being active within Women’s Missionary Union, as well as managing the Cookies for Cops program and the annual school supply charity drive. Born Nov. 9, 1934, in Benton, she was the daughter of the late Emma Marie (Griffaw) Greer and Jerome Lee Greer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years: Jack Donald Smith.

She is survived by a son: Aubrey (Misty) Smith of South Weber, Utah; two grandchildren: Hope Smith of Ogden and Spenser Smith of Bountiful, Utah; and a sister-in-law: Margaret Greer of Nampa, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Charles; and two sisters: Irene and Veda.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at First Baptist Church, 107 N. Truman Blvd., in Crystal City.
