Shirley Ann Robinson , 87, of Festus died April 17, 2020, at Festus Manor Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Robinson was a longtime member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. She had worked for the Pittsburg Plate Glass plant in Crystal City and Wehner’s Awards and Trophies in Festus. Born June 17, 1932, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Louise Mary (Boyer) and Adolph William Abernathy. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Raymond Robinson.
She is survived by a daughter: Katherine (Dan) Hoehn of Excelsior Springs; two grandchildren: Ryan (Kiri) Arnold of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kristina (Jake) Meyer of West Point, Miss.; three great-granddaughters: Izabel Arnold, Coraline Arnold and Reese Meyer; three sisters: Yvonne (the late Francis) Cadwallader of Texas, Deanna (the late Edward) Patek of Festus and Carol (Richard) Bardon of High Ridge; a brother: Allen “Tony” (the late Betty) Abernathy of Festus; a brother-in-law: Joseph (Gloria) Robinson of Festus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Nadine (the late Arthur) Wehner; and three brothers: William (the late Martha) Abernathy, Adolph Vincent Abernathy and Norman “Tuggy” (the late Catherine) Abernathy.
Private graveside services were held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Pony Bird Home in Mapaville. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
