Sharon Kay Newton, 74, of Hillsboro died Oct. 30, 2017, at Hillcrest Nursing Center in De Soto. Mrs. Newton was a housekeeper who worked in healthcare. She enjoyed watching T.V. and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Born May 10, 1943, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dauernheim and Celest Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband: James J.R. Newton.
She is survived by three sons: James (Cathy) Newton III of De Soto; Christopher Newton of Hillsboro and Shawn (Amanda) Newton of Hillsboro; two sisters: Sara Kitchen of O’Fallon and Sue Dugan of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren: Domenic, Kantada, Lacey, Kristi, Allison, Camden and Carter; and two great-grandchildren: Zander and Bentley.
She was preceded in death by a son: James Newton Jr.; and two brothers-in-law: Dave Kitchen and Harry Dugan.
A funeral service was held Nov. 7 at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
