Shane Christian Rayburn Courtney, 49, of Pevely died Nov. 5, 2021, at his home. Mr. Courtney owned Dreamscapes Landscaping of St. Louis, for which he enjoyed building ponds and waterfalls. He was a member of the International Pond and Waterfall Association, a devout Christian and enjoyed music, fishing, cycling and exploring. Born Oct. 30, 1972, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Katherine Nell (Rayburn) Reider and Lindsay James Courtney.
He is survived by his wife: Jamie (Sinn) Courtney; a daughter: Alexandra Courtney of Affton; three sons: Gabriel and Gavin Courtney and Logan Gore, all of St. Louis; a sister: Kitty Rayburn of St. Louis; and three brothers: Jeffrey Courtney of St. Louis, Ryan Reider of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jesse (Sarah) Cole of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Shay Shay Rayburn and Mary Rayburn.
Celebration of life will be from 3-9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at the Rock Memorial American Legion, 910 Montebello Road, in Imperial. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes, Festus.
