Seth Aaron Chapman, 41, of De Soto died Dec. 5, 2020, in De Soto. Mr. Chapman had worked as a valet and a construction laborer. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Star Wars and enjoyed camping, swimming, being outdoors, music, roller coasters, scary movies and playing video games. He loved Christmas and being with his family. Born April 3, 1979, in St. Louis, he was the son of Alan and LaDonna (Carey) Chapman of De Soto.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Gloria (Rios) Chapman of De Soto; two daughters: Savannah Chapman of De Soto and Autumn Chapman of Festus; a son: Nolan Chapman of De Soto; a sister: Angela (Albert) Nestler of Leavenworth, Kan.; two brothers: Scott Chapman and Shane Chapman, both of De Soto; a granddaughter: Artemis Chapman ; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Irene and William Chapman Sr. and Theodore and Francis Carey; two uncles: William Chapman Jr. and Ronald Carey; and an aunt: Edna Carey Wells
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at First Free Will Baptist Church, 1401 S. Fifth St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at the church, officiated by Brother Bob Thebeau. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
