Sandra V. “Sandy” Bowen, 73, of French Village died July 12, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Bowen was retired from Metal Container Corp., where she worked as an adjuster. She enjoyed crafting, rehabbing furniture, going to flea markets and thrift stores and listening to music. Born Dec. 27, 1947, in Ashville, N.C., she was the daughter of Jesse and Sarah (Madden) Harris of Festus.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband: Randy P. Bowen of Goose Creek in French Village; four children: Timothy (Patricia) Abney of Normal, Ill., Angela (Timothy) Wingerter of Herculaneum, Katie Bowen of St. Louis and Adam Bowen of De Soto; four siblings: Carol (Dan) Flatbush of De Soto, Melissa (Greg) Schultz of Festus, Jerry (Mona) Harris of Hillsboro and Jimmy (Cindy) Harris of St. Clair; a sister-in-law: Susan Harris of St. Louis; three grandchildren: Lezli (Kevin Urfer) Pettit, Michaela (Austin) Kemp and Sarah (Stephen) Hassell; and six great-grandchildren: Landon, Liam, Kashton, Addalee, Micah and Julia.
She was preceded in death by a brother: David Harris.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Brother Randy Casey.
