
Samuel Charles Leroy “Sam” Drinnin, 58, Hillsboro
Samuel Charles Leroy “Sam” Drinnin, 58, of Hillsboro died Aug. 23, 2021, at his home. Mr. Drinnin worked at Armour Equipment for many years painting show trucks. He later owned his own company, Drinnin Services Inc., and painted buses, cars, trucks, motorcycles, and even an airplane. He enjoyed playing his guitar, songwriting, camping, dune buggy riding, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. Born Jan. 19, 1963, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Samuel P. and Virginia (Fey) Drinnin.
He is survived by his wife: Linda (Kurschinske) Drinnin of Hillsboro; two sons: Samuel “Lee” Drinnin of Hillsboro and August Richard Drinnin of Hillsboro; a granddaughter: Abigail Jane Drinnin of Hillsboro; seven sisters: Alice (Ed) Booe of Bowie, Texas, Glenda Stevenson of Fenton, Pauline (Larry) Haley of De Soto, Caroline Doss of Oakville, Sandra Mueller of Hillsboro, Donna Black of Imperial, Margaret (Dan) Gagne of Lake St. Louis; a brother: Harold Drinnin of French Village; a sister-in-law: Debra Kurschinske of House Springs; two brothers-in-law: Donald (Linda) Kurschinske of High Ridge and Dorance Kurschinske Jr. of Hillsboro; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Gary and Clyde Kurschinske.
A memorial gathering will be from noon until the memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 12) at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
