Sam “Sammy” Clayton Schweitzer, 11, of Barnhart died Feb. 12, 2018, at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. He was a seventh-grade student at Windsor Middle School and a St. Louis Blues fan who liked playing ice hockey and soccer. Born April 14, 2006, in Mattoon, Ill., he was the son of Glenn Clayton Schweitzer of Festus.
He is survived by his grandparents: Jeannine and Tony Radin of Festus, Glenn R. Shweitzer, Chris Marshall and another grandfather; a great-grandmother: Florence Stafford; a sister: Taylor Schweitzer of Oakville; two brothers: Patrick Schweitzer of Oakville and an older brother; an aunt: Sherri; two uncles: Corey and Dustin; and numerous cousins, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother and an uncle: Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
