Ruth Virginia Tucker, 95, Imperial

Ruth Virginia Tucker, 95, of Imperial died March 19, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Tucker worked in the sales tax office for the Missouri Department of Revenue in Jefferson City, then became a secretary to the Missouri Supreme Court, and later was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, where she was in the Women’s Guild and the Quilting Circle. Born April 10, 1919, in Jefferson City, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and John Breeden.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years: Ernest Ray Tucker; a son-in-law: Eric Litel of Festus; a sister-in-law: Helen Garrison of Crystal City; two grandchildren: Rachel (Shawn) Donoho of St. Louis and James (Katherine Kissick) Tucker of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren: Easton James and Ahmi Litton Donoho; two nephews: Thomas (Rebecca) Breeden of Poplar Bluff and Alan (Cynthia) Garrison of Huntsville, Ala.; and a niece: Susan Garrison of Kirkwood.

She was preceded in death by two children: John Tucker and Virginia Litel.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 6610 St. Luke’s Church Road, in Imperial, with Rev. Carlton Norton officiating.
