Ruth E. Combs, 86, of Wildwood died Sept. 20, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Combs enjoyed reading, socializing and sewing. Born Oct. 15, 1931, in Couch, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Mellie (Weaver) Cypret.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years: Henry Combs of Wildwood, whom she married Aug. 22, 1946, in Salem, Ark.; two children: Pat (Mike) Gibson of Wildwood and Sandra (John) Keyes of Fenton; eight grandchildren: Brian (Kelly) Keyes, Michael (Erica) Gibson, Amy (Dave) Bruggemann, Kyle (Kerrie) Gibson, Jenny Combs, Julie Reagan, Aaron (Jill) Keyes and Stacy Combs; 15 great-grandchildren; five siblings: Rachel McGhee of Couch, Naomi Jones of Kansas City, Lois Goldman of St. Louis, Herb (Rachel) Cypret of St. Louis and Michael Cypret of St. Louis; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Ricky Combs; a brother: James Cypret; and a brother-in-law: Rath Lee McGhee.
Visitation is at noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
