Ruby Wulfers, 88, of Crystal City died Aug. 24, 2016, in Crystal City. Mrs. Wulfers was an owner of L&R Furniture, a manager for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., was an operator for AT&T and enjoyed painting and gardening. Born Oct. 18, 1927, in Farmington, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Mabel (Summers) Johnson.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years: Leon V. Wulfers; four daughters: Pamela (Steve) Portell of Crystal City, Cynthia (Bryce) Alexander of Glendale, Ariz., Lisa Wulfers of Crystal City and Angela Fix of St. Peters; a sister: Irene Gillespie of Farmington; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Gallagher and Verna Mae Skaggs.
Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Neuropothy Association, 5841 S. Maryland Ave, Chicago, IL 60637 or the Alzheimers Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis MO 63132. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
