Ruby Lucille Buchanan, 83, of De Soto died Oct. 1, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Buchanan enjoyed sewing, doing crafts and going to yard sales. Born Sept. 2, 1931, in Lafe, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Mangum) Crafton. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert V. Buchanan.
She is survived by three children: Brenda L. Buchanan of De Soto, Robert E. (Regina) Buchanan of De Soto and Edward L. (Dawna) Buchanan of Arnold; four siblings: Emma Lou Brown, JoAnn Crafton, Betsy Phillips and Betty Brown, all of California; five grandchildren: Tim, Evan, Kayla, Samantha and Cassandra; four great-grandchildren: Dennis, Christopher, Dean and Devan; and one great-great-grandchild: Amillia.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Marian Paulette Buchanan; and eight siblings: Everett Crafton, Charles Crafton, Glenna King, Barbara Huggins, Henritta Newhouse, Howe Crafton, Bethania Crafton and Myrtle Crafton.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Blytheville, Ark. Memorials may be made to the Epworth Street Outreach Services, Development Department, 110 North Elm, Webster Groves, 63119. Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
