Ruby “Irene” Siliven, 96, of Festus died Jan. 10, 2021, at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Siliven was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed going on trips with the Faith Baptist Young at Heart group, reading, sewing, fishing, working puzzles, quilting, gardening, going to yard sales and craft shows, playing Settlers of Catan, and having family get-togethers, especially hosting everyone on Christmas Eve. Born Feb. 5, 1924, in Taney County, she was the daughter of the late Blanche (Macom) and Floyd Brown. She was preceded in death by her first husband: James Wilburn “Bill” Beeler; and her second husband: Fred Ray Siliven
She is survived by three daughters: Jean (the late Roger) Jackson of Fredericktown, Glenda (Ken) Siebert of Festus and Evelyn (the late Bill) Cartee of Fredericktown; a son: Dennis (Joyce) Siliven of Gonzales, La.; two brothers: Eldred Brown of Grain Valley and Allen (Carol) Brown of Forsyth; 10 grandchildren: Amanda (Jim) Burnett, Annette (Todd) Reynolds, Justin (Carol) Siebert, Jenny (Ryan) Hardesty, Rachael (Elliot) Waguespack, Sylvia Cartee, Marcia (Gary) Snow, Brian Cartee, James Cartee, and Dorothy Cartee; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Patsy Beeler and Beverly Ann Beeler; two sisters: Pauline (the late Lyman) Cardwell and Neva (the late Juriel) Thomas; and two brothers: Garline (the late Margie) Brown and Glendon (Ailene survives of Forsyth) Brown.
A funeral service was held Jan. 15 at Faith Baptist Church in Festus, officiated by Pastor Matt Culbertson. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery of Cedar Creek. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
