Lorella, Roy

Roy Edward Lorella, 69, of Imperial died Oct. 3, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Lorella was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Community Bible Church of Pevely. In addition to running his own business, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and watching baseball. He was born Dec. 14, 1951, in St. Louis, the son of the late Rodger Marshall Lorella and Jackie (Birkenmaier) Sanborn.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Delma Kay (Durso) Lorella, whom he married on July 15, 1972, in St. Louis; two sons: Douglas (Melissa) Lorella of Herculaneum and David (JoAnna) Lorella of Imperial; four grandchildren: Paige Lorella, Clayton Lorella, Zachary Lorella, and Cheyenne Lorella; a brother: Craig Douglas Lorella of Las Vegas; his stepfather: Lew Sanborn; two brothers-in-law: Dennis (Daina) Rudanovich of Arnold and Bob Blanchard of Imperial; his nieces and nephews: Sauny (Jeff) Benack, Mark (Cheri) Rudanovich, Laura (Nik) Maxwell and Steven Blanchard; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
