Rose Lorene Blessing, 86, of St. Louis died Sept. 17, 2021, at The Arbors at Mattis Pointe. Ms. Blessing was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Born Dec. 20, 1934, in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Pearl Gibbar Cissell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: Francis Aloysius Blessing.
She is survived by a son: Keith (Shelly) Blessing of Imperial; a daughter: Helen (Richard) Proehl of Eureka; a brother: Claude (Nancy) Cissell Jr.; four grandchildren: Matt (Jessica) Blessing, Ginny (Steve) Ahillen, Kara (Jacob) Proehl-Haas and Erica (Nick) Morris; and eight grandchildren: Celia, Zachary, Evelyn, Elenor, Phoebe, Max, Chloe and Remy.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Gene, Leonard and Ken Cissell.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake, officiated by Father Joe Geders. Burial is in the St. Rose of Lima Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
