Ronald Lee Huskey, 69, of De Soto died April 8, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Huskey was a retired mechanic and worked many years with his father at Huskey’s Service Station in De Soto and later for Thurman Motors in Festus. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of First Baptist Church of De Soto, VFW Post 1831 and Amvets Post 48. He enjoyed target shooting, competing in shooting matches and gardening, but his favorite pastime was being on the open road riding his Harley. Born March 9, 1951, in De Soto, he was the son of Mary E. (Payton) Huskey-Warmbrodt of Desloge and the late Victor Huskey Jr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters: Lisa Bieg of De Soto, Ronika Boren of Leadwood and Victoria Huskey of Sullivan; a sister: Patricia Matheny of De Soto; three brothers: Dale Huskey of De Soto, Robert Huskey of De Soto and Bruce Huskey of Desloge; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were private. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
The family plans to hold a public memorial service with full military honors at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
