Roland Lee “Ron” Anderson, 66, of French Village died July 23, 2020, at his home. Mr. Anderson was a plumber/pipefitter with Local 562. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army and a former member of the Ste. Genevieve American Legion post. Born April 11, 1954, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Gladys “Fay” (Mitchell) and Ralph Anderson.

He is survived by his wife: JoAnn (Waters) Thompson; two daughters: Jessica Anderson of Festus and Mellisa (Jesse) Tindall of Festus; two stepdaughters: Cheri (Mark) Gilmore of Festus and Michelle Thompson of Bloomsdale; four brothers: R. Kenneth (Paula) Anderson of St. Clair, Richard A. Anderson of Festus, Charles (Velinda) Anderson of Festus and Steven (Tracy) Anderson of Festus; four sisters: Linda (Arthur) Boehmer of French Village, Victoria (Brent) Sterling of Steelville, Julie (Mike) Williams of Springfield and Laura Ann (Jeffrey) Kormeier of New Haven; a brother-in-law: Wayne Stanley of Festus; seven grandchildren: Austin Humphres, Evan Humphres, Brayden Rodriguez, Christian Rodriguez, Aleighia Anderson, Garret Tindall and Mia Tindall; three step-grandchildren: Kayla (Ricky Chism) Thompson, Kyle (Kay) Thompson and Draven Gilmore; a great-grandson: Zappa Humphres; and two step-great-grandchildren: Ellie Aunna Thompson and Rocco Chism.

He was preceded in death by a son: Christopher Lee Anderson; and a sister: Brenda Stanley.

Visitation is at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any suicide prevention awareness organization. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
