Rodger Cawvey Sr., 62, of Ste. Genevieve died Aug. 14, 2017, at his home. Mr. Cawvey worked as a school janitor and warehouse forklift operator. Born Dec. 19, 1954, inSt. Louis, he was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Dean) and Walter Kenneth Cawvey.
He is survived by a daughter: Amy Cawvey of Ste. Genevieve; a son: Rodger Cawvey Jr. of Farmington; four grandchildren: Kenneth, Kaylee, Eli and Layne; five brothers: Michael Cawvey of Pevely, Brian Cawvey of Festus, Allen (Janet) Cawvey of Festus, John (Sherri) Cawvey of Herculaneum and Patrick (Rhonda) Cawvey of Festus; and a sister: Jeanne (the late Paul) Cawvey of Herculaneum.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home,9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by the Rev. Martha Book, associate pastor of Book of Acts Church in De Soto.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s ResearchHospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
