Robert Vincent “Bob” Gudines, 86, of Dittmer died Feb. 6, 2015, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mr. Gudines was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Honor Flight. He was a member of the National LMS Association, Anheuser Busch American Legion Post 299, and Knights of Columbus Council 6435. He was a fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 0567, as well as a life member and past commander of VFW Post 5331 in Cedar Hill. Born May 28, 1928, in St Louis, he was the son of the late William and Antoinette (Baladenski) Gudines.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Mary Lou (Fischer) Gudines of Dittmer; three children: Vince (Denise) Gudines, Mark Gudines and Nancy (Daren) Phye, all of Dittmer; a sister: Loretta (Joseph) Metzger of Holiday Island, Ark.; a daughter-in-law: Diane Gudines of Dittmer; six grandchildren: Rob Gudines, Katie (Kevin) Schubel, Michael (Kelsea) Gudines, Diona (Raymond) Huffman, Jameison Phye and Amalia Phye; one great-grandchild: Karsyn; several nieces and newphws; many friends; and his special pet, T-Bone.
He was preceded in death by a son, Denis Gudines.
Memorial visitation is at noon and memorial services with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
