Robert Sander Brase, 70, of St. Louis, formerly of Festus, died Jan. 9, 2014.
Mr. Brase was a State Farm agent who built a large and successful agency over 50 years. He was a four-sport athlete at Festus High School, playing football, basketball, baseball and track, and later graduated from the University of Missouri.
He was born June 11, 1943, the son of the late John and Helen Brase.
Mr. Brase was involved in many youth activities and coaching while his children were growing up.
Survivors include his wife, Angela “Angie” Rule; four children: Tessa (Andrew) Dyer of St. Louis; John (Allison) Brase of Mason, Ohio; Kris Grimshaw of Evergreen, Colo; Scott (Wendy) Brase of St. Louis; nine grandchildren: Emily, Ben, Meghan, Max, Jacob, Noah, Ethan, Sam and CJ; a sister-in-law: Mary Lou Brase; three nephews: Rick (Ronnie), Mike (John) and David (Shawnette); and a niece: Suzy.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Brase.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Schrader Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road, Ballwin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Grace Presbyterian Church, 105 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. A private burial will be held.
Memorials may be made to Thoracic Oncology Research Fund, c/o Dr. R. Govindan at Siteman Center. The donations will help fund research to find a cure for lung cancer.
Arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home in Ballwin.
