Langan, Robert

Robert S. Langan, 66, of De Soto, died Aug. 10, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Langan was self-employed as the owner of De Soto Heating and Cooling and was a veteran of both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, the De Soto Elks Lodge, De Soto Amvets Post 48 and the Show-Me Vettes in Farmington. He loved antique cars and golfing. Born Dec. 28, 1950, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late John Langan and Alma “Rae” (Bunch) Twibell.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Pamela (Portell) Langan of De Soto; three daughters: Stacy (Jon) Eisenbeis of Festus, Stephanie Langan-Blaylock of De Soto and Cassie (Joshua) Reichert of Blue Springs; and five grandchildren: Courtney and Erik Eisenbeis, Landen Blaylock and Jakob and Abigail Reichert.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Susan Carlson.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at Mahn Funeral home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Alex Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
