McGraw, Robert

Robert Ray McGraw, 85, of St. Louis died March 9, 2023, in St. Louis. Mr. McGraw served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a laborer in commercial construction and a member of LiUNA Local 110. He had a passion for drums, playing them in the Air Force and in his private life into his senior years. He enjoyed collecting “bitters bottles” and attending many auto shows, and built a hot rod which he gave to his great-grandson. He enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers, and was a huge supporter of the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Born July 15, 1937, in Eureka, he was the son of the late Walter McGraw and Irene Kirby.

He is survived by three children: Terry (Scott) Ferguson, Sherry (Dan) Weber and Steven McGraw; three grandchildren: Kristine Weber, Robert Weber and Jessica Ferguson; five great-grandchildren: Austin Yochim, Trenton Weber, Audrey Weber, Landon Vaughn and Macie Weber; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Scott McGraw.

Memorials may be made to the Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd., St. Louis, 63110. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
