Robert R. “Bob” Wilson, 77, of De Soto died Sept. 25, 2019, at Crystal Oaks Rehabilitation Facility in Crystal City. Mr. Wilson was a retired machinist with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft and member of Luckey Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a volunteer firefighter with the De Soto Rural Fire Department for many years. Born April 23, 1942, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Wanda M. (Stewart) and Cleophus “Jack” Wilson.
He is survived by two daughters: Brenda (Mike) Werle of Richwoods and Cathy (James “Jimmy”) Newton of De Soto; four siblings: Alice (the late Jake) Dufrenne, Frank Wilson, Betty (the late Karl) Spurgin and Steve (Terri) Wilson, all of De Soto; a sister-in-law: Ethel Wilson of De Soto; and four grandchildren: Nicollette Christine Werle, Brandon Michael Werle, Domenic James Newton, and Kantada Lyn Newton.
He was preceded in death by a brother: William “Bill” Wilson.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the funeral home, officiated by Mark Olds. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
