Gray, Robert

Robert L. “Bob” Gray, 81, of Seward, Neb., died Sept. 5, 2016, in Seward. Mr. Gray was a 1954 Festus High School graduate and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars as an aircraft technician. He was a car salesman at Rolfsmeier Motors and worked at Lee’s Appliances. Born June 20, 1935, in Festus, he was the son of the late James E. and Ruth (Lambert) Gray.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Delores (Sherer) Gray of Seward; two sons: Bob (Pat) Gray Jr. and Rick (Jocelyn) Gray, both of Seward; a daughter: Connie (Brett) Borchers of Utica, Neb.; eight grandchildren: Brandon, Bryant and Justin Borchers, Nathan, Haley and MacKenzie Gray and Cole and Jakob Gray; four great-grandchildren: Draven Gray, Barrett Borchers, Everly Borchers and Nixon Borchers; and a sister: Sandra Allbright of Pevely.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Wanda (the late Eugene) Cross; and four grandparents: William and Alice Gray and Franklin and Effie Mae Lambert.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Neb. Burial with full military honors is in the Seward Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gray Family. Arrangements are under the direction of Volzke Funeral Home.
