Rick Lloyd “Rickey” Held, 74, of Minot, N.D., died May 10, 2021, at his home. Mr. Held served in the Air Force from 1966 through 1988, retiring as a master sergeant. He then worked for many years as a car salesman. He was a 1964 graduate of Crystal City High School, where he participated in football and basketball. He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church and a volunteer at the Lord’s Cupboard Food Pantry. Born Aug. 2, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Herschel and Donna (Davis) Held. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta “Ro” (Richards) Held.
He is survived by two children: son Chris (Tiffany) Held and daughter Carey (Craig) Erickson, both of Minot, N.D.; four grandchildren: Carson Held, Riley Held, Nixxen Held and Keaton Erickson; a sister: Cindy (Steve) Donaldson of Pevely; a brother-in-law: Sam (Becky) Richards of Festus; a cousin: Charlotte “Tudie” Avett of St. Louis; and several other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law: Boston and Bertie Richards; and sister-in-law: Becky (John) Mothershead.
Funeral services will be private. An informal book signing will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot, N.D. Memorials may be made to the Vincent United Methodist Church Lord’s Cupboard Food Pantry in Minot.
