Richard Lance Parsons, 75, of St. Louis died April 25, 2019. Mr. Parsons was born into a family of educators and amateur philosophers in Lock Haven, Pa., in 1943. He graduated from Vanderbilt University before moving back to Pennsylvania, marrying, and teaching high school while learning the autoharp. He ultimately moved to St. Louis, where he met and married his wife. He was an avid chess player and a poor singer.
He is survived by his wife: Diane; a son: Adam; a daughter: Amy; and four grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
