Rhonda Lee Brocksmith, 87, of Herculaneum died July 28, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Brocksmith was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus and was known at “the Piano Lady” at Behrmann’s Tavern in St. Louis and Autumn Ridge. Born May 14, 1929, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Ruth E. (Hunot) and Charles F. Polette. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Ralph Rocksmith Jr.
She is survived by two daughters: Christine (Gary) Burton of Festus and Cynthia Brocksmith of De Soto; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Charlotte Breth; six sisters: Mildred Pogue, Blanche Edwards, Lillian Zahner, Dorothy Striler, Elda Brunkhorst and Marcella Baughn; and two brothers: Charles Polette and Russ Polette.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Jeffrey Maassen. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
