Reid C. Thompson, 22, of Festus died Feb. 14, 2019, at his home. Reid was a Mapaville State School graduate and attended Pony Bird’s day program in De Soto. He also was a member of First Christian Church in Hematite. He loved his friends and family, especially his brother. Born Dec. 26, 1996, in St. Louis, he was the son of Chris and Karen Thompson of Festus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother: Mitchell Thompson of Festus; three grandparents: Wayne and Pat Thompson of Festus and James Kassen of Festus; seven aunts and uncles: Erin Thompson of Fenton, Gordon and Darlene Kassen of Sunset Hills, Gary and Laura Helwig of Crystal City and Glenn and Rhonda Kassen of Festus; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by one aunt: Peggy Dellinger; and one grandmother: Marjorie Kassen.
A memorial service was held Feb. 18 at First Christian Church in Hematite, officiated by Phil Wallace and Terry Crank. Memorials may be made to Pony Bird, 1 Pony Bird Dr., Mapaville, 63065.
